Prof. Luciano Maffi

Associate Professor

Luciano Maffi is a Professor of Economic History at the University of Parma. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor with contract RTD - type B at the same Department and with contract RTD - type A at the University of Salento in Lecce. He was also a research fellow at the Bocconi University of Milan, the University of Genoa and the University of Brescia. In 2014 and 2015, he has been a visiting researcher at Blackfriars Hall of the University of Oxford for a few months. He obtained the National Scientific Appointment to the positions of Professor referred to in Article 16 of Law 240/2010, SECS-P/12 Economic History, S.C. 13/C1 - Economic History, on 09/11/2023 (valid from 09/11/2023 to 09/11/2034). It deals with economic, financial and social history, with a focus on private bankers in the 19th century. It also studies the primary sector and food production in modern and contemporary history, as well as the history of tourism, especially in relation to demographic trends and infrastructural and economic changes in the 19th and 20th centuries.
